Centre Bend is a bend placed right in the middle of the space between two teeth.  It maybe 45°, or less and the “V” is pointing apically. It brings roots apart and crowns together.  The open coil spring will move crowns apart; therefore, the net effect is the divergence of the roots.

Because there is no short arm or long arm, there are no forces, only equal and opposite moments (tipping). This is an excellent artistic wire bend to open an inter-radicular space for an implant placement.
