IAO Online Mentoring/Training Center

The IAO Online Mentoring/Training Center is a fully interactive learning environment.  Members can choose from a variety of ortho-related categories.  Once in the program, the mentee or mentor/trainer can share their screen.  Cases, software, schematics, and so much more can be shown.  Both the mentee and mentor/trainer can draw and write text on the images.  There are numerous tools to help improve the learning experience.  The mentee and mentor/trainer have full access to all of them. 

The session scheduling is set up to work within both the mentee’s and mentor/trainer’s schedules.  A notice will be sent to all mentors/trainers when a category is selected.  The first available mentor/trainer will contact the mentee to schedule a session.  Once agreed upon, the mentor/trainer enters the session into the calendar. 

To provide the most value, the association has selected IAO Fellows and Diplomates to provide the mentoring.  Trainers with trusted partners outside of the organization have also been approved.  They are industry leaders in supplies, equipment, software, and practice management.  The large group of mentors/trainers provides a greater course base.  Mentees can learn with a mentee using a more traditional online lecture method.  They can review cases, look at new material, and ask/answer questions.  The mentee may also look for outside training.  Learn how to maximize the value of the new equipment you purchased.  Explore all the tools different complex software can provide.  Set up a meeting with a practice management expert to help increase profits.  All of these options are available to the mentee.

The Online Mentoring/Training Center was built with customization in mind.  The IAO wants to provide a unique learning experience for the users.  Thus, the scheduling function was designed to work for both the mentee and mentor/trainer schedules.  Also, multiple tools that allow for interactive participation were incorporated.  Finally, and most importantly, these sessions are, first and foremost, set up as one-on-one experiences.
